In order to implement the national policy and uphold the concept of "Discovering Myself at Yinghua", the students of Yinghua Junior High School embarked on a wonderful journey of exploring history by participating in the museum programme based on the "Discovery+" curriculum system of the Head Office.
Based on the cognitive characteristics of different grades and the characteristics and connections of various disciplines, we set up interesting and novel inquiry questions in accordance with the project inquiry learning mode, so that students can connect the knowledge of different disciplines and construct their own knowledge system in the experience of various themes in the museums, and give full play to the role of museums in exposition learning. The museum programme is carried out in a way that adheres to the core of developing the core qualities of secondary school students, meets the needs of students' personalised development, and allows students to carve their own portraits of YCIS students while cultivating their discovery + core qualities.
At the Wuqing Museum, Tianjin Aerospace Exhibition and Tianjin Museum of History, students interacted with the docents and participated in various workshops to understand history from multiple perspectives. At the Wuqing Museum, students learnt about the treasures of traditional Chinese culture; at the Aerospace Exhibition, they experienced the rapid development of China's aerospace industry; and at the History Museum, they explored the changes of the times and the power of science and technology.
As an important part of Yinghua's distinctive "Discovery+-3C" curriculum system, the museum curriculum enables students to learn knowledge, stimulate the spirit of exploration, and gain all-round development in the museum through dialogue with history, society, nature, and themselves, laying a solid foundation for the future, and growing up to be inheritors of civilisation and mission-bearers, They will grow up to be heirs of civilisation, mission-bearers, youthful strivers, life-enrichers, liberal-minded, rational thinkers, good questioners and problem-solvers.
